Matsuo Basho
Let Your Love Curve
So the vital organ forgoes friction for freedom
A new arrangement attunes-
It plays and soars abroad
On the still curve of the night
A muscle at large is meter chasing rhyme
No rest and no contraction
Just pure expansion for keeping tempo
with a fugitive song bound to peak and fade
Savor + Stretch: A Food and Yoga Adventure in Southern Italy
This Yoga Adventure is not your typical yoga retreat. Be prepared to eat, drink, and indulge while stretching your senses along the Adriatic Coast. Daily yoga and meditation sessions with @angellairwin are on the menu. Sweet communion with fellow travelers is unavoidable. Connecting with the art of enjoyment in Puglia is the centerpiece pose - our main mode of transportation.
The Weight of Flight
When there is nostalgia for touching
anything at all
There is coming down for prayer
and wishing you were here
To kneel before this
The one question, the next verse
The Heart (and The Tart) of The Heel, Part I: Evoking The Magic of Puglia
While probing the Pugliese playground with her two young, sunlit daughters in tow, Hilaree evokes the magic, the color, and very often, the humor of her adoptive habitat on the Italian Adriatic through her photography and storytelling, and the through the turning of local fruits and fixings into art: @tartoftheheel.
The Wanting Space (Revised)
Miles of trekking above the timberline to stockpile a vision
Tuned me in to the fertile valley of the deep,
Seasoned the endurance of my heart space,
And led me to this blooming meadow
Bound for Corrosion
Fuse me, the magma in my heart,
To the fire core that birthed this rock
Where once upon a time
Lava loved forth like a fluid firework
Like an unreasonable river
Only to eventually cool solid.
Somewhere Deep: Go To The Edge (Part 4)
The passage is now accompanied by knowing
So I travel downward on the memory of upward perspective
Unclothed of reciprocity, sores from the initial cascade reopen
They know about the inevitable upward climb.
Somewhere Deep: Taking Back The View (Part 3)
I’ll be here
When the outskirts of stability blend
with the disorderly flurries at love’s windy precipice.
I will dive again
Somewhere Deep: Looking Up (Part 2)
I’m gazing up at them now:
the premeditated,
the unplanned,
each one, a unique trajectory.
Oh, the joy of watching the lovers
who resisted
with all their minds’ power
And plunged anyway
Without you
As time would have us
There is little of it left in this pose
Where the you to me is overgrown with speculation
And the in between has more to offer than you ever did.
Into the Backdrop
In the partial shade or light we could sit there
Could we sit there? Guarded by the color still hanging on?
In sun-pierced red and yellow:
Me on one side, you on the other.
We could forget about the tightrope and explore the light and dark of in between.
